Services fall under any of the following plans, depending upon the nature of the project and the client's needs:
1. By the word - ranging from $.50 to $1.00 per word (usually for one-time blogs or tweets)
2. Hourly - from $35 to $70/hour (heavy edits or ghost writing are the highest)
3. By the page - from $50 to $100, depending upon who provides the content and how much editing is required
4. By the project - from $350 and up
5. Monthly/Quarterly retainer - customized for each client
Examples
Scenario #1 - Client would like a 250-300 word blog @ $.50/word= $125-150. If twitter postings are desired, tweets
would be approximate 25 words @ $.50 word = $12.50
Scenario #2 - Client's web page content or e-newsletter content needs to be edited: a small part of a larger project. The
hourly rate of $35-70 would apply.
Scenario #3 - Client wants to mail a monthly newsletter, requiring interviews, writing content, managing content providers,
and working with graphic artists and printers. The project fee of $350 + would apply here, driven by the size
of the publication, with additional fees for graphic services (layout) and printing. For a small publication, an
hourly fee would be more cost effective.
Scenario #4 - Client desires a monthly package of four blogs, an e-newsletter and a direct mail piece:
Blogs are $125 x 4, plus e-newsletter is approx. $200, plus $140 for a direct mail piece.
Total cost would be $840/month, a cost-effective pricing that is less expensive than the cost of individual pieces.
